- Parking space management
- 4 scanners & 4 vending machines
- Parkster
Before switching to the Peter Park solution, the parking area was managed and monitored using conventional ticket machines. This led to queues in front of the machines, particularly at peak times in the mornings and evenings when the cable car is open almost all year round, as well as delayed occupancy of the parking spaces, as guests had to buy a parking ticket for the duration of their stay on arrival and display it in their vehicle.
Thanks to the digital system solution, which uses scanners to record the license plates of vehicles entering and exiting the car park to determine the parking time, visitors no longer have to take tickets from ticket machines at the start. This reduces queues and the rush at peak times. The solution enables the Söllereckbahn to offer its customers discounted prices for parking - external parkers, for example, pay the full price.
The newly installed system saves space, requires hardly any hardware and also proves its worth in cold temperatures during the winter season. Visitors to the Söllereckbahn can enter and leave the parking area seamlessly, resulting in fewer tailbacks and minimizing traffic searching for a parking space. This also benefits the residents of Oberstdorf. For the cable car operators, administrative and personnel costs have been reduced since implementation, which has also reduced expenditure.
"From my point of view, the system is characterized by the fact that the hardware is simple, clear and virtually maintenance-free. Another point is the user interface of the machine and the payment app, which our guests find very easy to use. With this solution, we are achieving the three goals we pursued when we introduced it: Simple hardware, high acceptance by guests and price enforcement. "
