The free parking spaces at Messe Burgenland in Oberwart were also used by visitors from nearby institutions. This meant that there were fewer parking spaces available for trade fair visitors and employees. The municipality of Oberwart was looking for an efficient parking space management solution that would make it easy to manage the parking areas and thus make them less attractive for third-party parkers. The choice fell on the Peter Park System.
The municipality of Oberwart has been using the digital, barrier-free parking space management system to manage the 520 parking spaces at the trade fair center since May 2024. The parking spaces can be accessed seamlessly, there is no need to stop at the entrance and exit. At the end of their stay, visitors enter their license plate number and pay for the duration of their parking at user-friendly pay machines with simple menu navigation, via the Easypark parking app or online. Various tariffs are available for short-term and long-term parkers.
While trade fair visitors and employees can park in a relaxed manner thanks to the barrier-free solution, the parking areas at the trade fair are now less attractive for third-party parkers due to the management system. The operators manage their parking areas particularly efficiently thanks to automated processes, which also increases cost-effectiveness. The elimination of paper or magnetic strip tickets also has a positive effect, as this saves paper and costs and avoids environmentally harmful waste.
Messe Oberwart manages around 700 parking spaces in three parking areas and offers visitors an innovative and barrier-free solution with the Peter Park system. We were impressed by the modern license plate recognition technology, which automatically records the parking time and thus makes parking easier. Quick and easy payment without change is possible. The system is also environmentally friendly, as it does away with paper or magnetic strip tickets.
