The Hirschau in Munich is a popular excursion destination for tourists and Munich residents alike. Due to its convenient location, the associated free parking lot was not only used by guests of the beer garden and restaurant, but also by visitors to the nearby English Garden. As a result, there was often a lack of free parking spaces for guests at the Hirschau. The restaurant operators looked for a solution to reduce the attractiveness of the parking area for third-party parkers and introduced the Peter Park system.
Use of the parking area is now subject to a charge. The digital, barrier-free solution offers visitors a convenient parking experience: when entering and exiting, the vehicle's license plate number is recorded by scanner and the parking time is calculated automatically. The user-friendly pay stations offer a wide range of payment options, and payment can also be made online. Charges are based on the actual parking time.
The fact that the parking lot is now subject to a charge makes it less attractive for third-party parkers, which means that Hirschau can provide its guests with sufficient parking space. In addition, all visitors who park beyond the free parking period now contribute financially to the maintenance of the parking lot. There are no paper or plastic parking tickets, which saves paper, waste and costs.
We opted for the digital, barrier-free solution because it enables a seamless and convenient parking process. The absence of barriers prevents the creation of backlogs at the entrances and exits to the parking lot.
